Do extensions require planning permission?
Whether or not your extension requires planning permission will depend upon the size of land around your home, if your home is being brought closer to a public highway, or if you are planning on creating an extension higher than the existent point of your home.
If you were to build without planning permission, your extension could be no bigger than half the area of land surrounding your house. Often, without planning permission, you are limited in the width and height of your extension.
